Visit to Practice Schools by Fırat University Department of Primary Education

Research Assistant Oğuzhan Toker from Fırat University, Faculty of Education, Department of Primary Education, visited several practice schools in Elazığ to observe teacher candidates during their internship process.

As part of the visit, meetings were held at Şehit Kemal Aslan Primary School, İsmet Paşa Primary School, Gönül İhsan Tangülü Primary School, Şehit Bünyamin Torğut Primary School, Cumhuriyet Primary School, and Salim Hazardağlı Primary School with mentor teachers and school administrators.

During the meetings, topics such as the experiences, expectations, and challenges encountered by teacher candidates throughout the practicum process were discussed. Suggestions were also exchanged to further strengthen the university–school collaboration.

Research Assistant Oğuzhan Toker emphasized the importance of school experience and teaching practice in preparing teacher candidates for the profession, stating that these visits aim to enhance the quality of the educational process and support the professional development of future teachers in real classroom settings.

At the end of the visits, individual meetings were held with teacher candidates to evaluate their expectations from the practicum, classroom observations, and collaboration with mentor teachers.
