Preparations Begin for the Celebration of National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23

At our university, a meeting was held under the leadership of the Faculty of Education Dean’s Office with the participation of faculty members from the Department of Basic Education, in line with the preparations for the events to be organized within the scope of National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding the April 23 celebrations planned to be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, on our university campus. Various suggestions were discussed in order to enrich the content of the program, increase student participation, and strengthen the educational dimension of the activities. In this context, it was decided to include educational workshops for primary school students, creative drama activities, traditional children’s games, music and dance performances, as well as science- and art-based practices in the program. In addition, a consensus was reached on planning practice-based activities in which pre-service teachers will take an active role, increasing interaction-focused activities with children, and strengthening faculty–school collaboration. In line with the decisions taken during the meeting, relevant commissions were formed, responsibilities were assigned, and it was decided that the preparation process would be carried out in a coordinated manner.
